4th January 2013 – mistletoe

A lonely, drooping piece of mistletoe, hanging forlornly from the lampshade. All Christmas magic gone from its drooping leaves and yellowing berries, it has become just a weed again. But around it flows the memory of kisses shared and tinsel glittering, and the hopeful fizz of new year possibilities.
