21st October 2013 – sign

It used to advertise a public house. A tall wooden pole, pushed securely into place well over a century ago. Its decorated metal panel, squeaking and swaying in the autumn wind and rain, now proclaims a doctor’s surgery.

27th August 2013 – brush

I stroke it through her fur, leaving perfect lines. She loves its white plastic bristles, its red wooden back. Eventually she’ll start to play, but for now she just luxuriates.

6th August 2013 – street organ

Painted in bright colours, it draws in young and old. As the handle is turned, it reads familiar tunes from punched cardboard strips. A group of tiny wooden morris men dance, play and drink to entertain the crowds.
