7th November 2013 – temporary road surface

Tarmac scraped away, a raked landscape has appeared. Rutted with holes and tiny ditches, a subterranean world. Rising above it are manhole islands, metal-capped miniature mountains.

3rd August 2013 – seeds

Like snowflakes, they drift across the motorway. Most land, impotent, on the tarmac; but some make it to the other side. The cycle of life continues.

6th June 2013 – slow worms

Two males fight. One has the other by the tail. Living up to their name, they slowly wriggle and writhe. Through all this, the female lies, patiently waiting. A silvery-grey triangle, barely visible on the tarmac path.
