Leaves flutter past the window, like golden snowflakes. It sheds its decorations at last, laying itself bare for the winter winds to come.

Like snowflakes, they drift across the motorway. Most land, impotent, on the tarmac; but some make it to the other side. The cycle of life continues.

27th March 2013 – snowflakes

At first, they look like flies, chasing each other around in the early morning sun. Then I realise they’re falling, not flying. Tiny snowflakes, lost in a place where they cannot settle, melting away as fast as they appear.
