16th December 2013 – practice nurse
She bustles cheerfully around the room, shoes clicking softly on the lino floor. Deftly, she transfers samples into bottles and labels them. She invites complete trust; she knows her job well.
11th November 2013 – dead leaves
Dropped from indifferent shoes, they lie forlornly on the doormat. Once vital parts of a living, breathing organism, now discarded. Soon they will rot down, feeding their successors even as they change and disappear.

26th June 2013 – shoes
Bright pink and high-heeled. A frivolity beneath the formal clothing and white coat. The stark hospital surroundings make them stand out, much loved and lived in, against the grey plastic floor.
