Flying low over the trees, calling out with its distinctive caw. The setting sun catches its belly. It floats past, wings outstretched, the jumbo jet of the feathered world.

20th January 2013 – seagull

His white back and head echo the snow on the roof beneath his feet. His belly stands out starkly, a lozenge of dark grey against the creamy-coloured, snow-laden sky.
