It lands on the carpet with a flash of silver from its tiny wings; then takes off in a blur of movement. It heads for the ceiling lights, confused by our technology, looking for the moon and a mate.

22nd July 2013 – moon
As it rises behind the gathering thunderclouds, it casts an orange light onto them. Its rays create the illusion of a far-off galaxy. The everyday transformed into the extraordinary.

Almost full, it looks paper thin; stamped pale against the blue evening sky. It’s surface is dappled with the shadows of its craters; a different planet hanging over our indifferent one.
