31st October 2013 – trick or treat

They wear pyjamas and their faces are painted with ghoulish designs. They clutch their bags excitedly, their eager eyes lit by the glow of the smiling pumpkins in each window.

17th October 2013 – red sky in the morning

A shepherd’s warning. The sky is blood-red, cloud-clotted. Lit by a fiery glow, as if the gates to hell lie just beyond the horizon. Minutes pass and the fire dies down, replaced by a normal autumn grey.

6th October 2013 – The Big Draw

18th August 2013 – sun and rain

Fields of dried stubble glow a bright yellow, picked out by golden rays. From their left comes a grey misty curtain of water, slowly extinguishing each light as it moves.

23rd June 2013 – roses

The only surviving flowers from a beautiful bouquet. They glow, pink and perfect. Petals spiralling into a delicate centre, each one is unique, its scent rising with every brush or sniff.
