25th August 2013 – bird
It sits in the undergrowth, wings stretched out in the sudden, late afternoon sun. As I approach, it flits low over my path and disappears. My spirit is lifted by this reminder of nature’s constant presence.

3rd July 2013 – baby bird
It flits fearlessly down at our feet, looking for food. Soft downy feathers with a speckled pattern just showing. Quick as a flash, it darts to the wall, grabbing and swallowing an insect almost before we notice its movement.
