He stretches it up from the pushchair; tiny and perfect with bright pink fingertips. Fingers splayed, he reaches for Mummy. She enfolds his in her own. Safety, warmth and comfort on a crowded bus.

25th April 2013 – friend
She stretches out her hand and places it gently on my arm. A gesture of comfort that’s worth a thousand words. She keeps it there for a few minutes as we talk, reassuring me that I am not alone.
