11th December 2013 – fog
It sits in the valley like condensed milk, heavy and sticky in the cold morning air. Views disappear as if by magic, a whitewashed wall in their place.

9th November 2013 – fence
Damp with dew in the early morning sun. As it warms, steam begins to rise. A cold fire burning as the day dawns clear.
22nd September 2013 – cake and ice cream
The perfect combination. Cherry-ripple flavour, heaped in cold mountains. Chocolate sponge, crumbly and moist. As the crumbs freeze to the snowy peaks, they begin to melt. An avalanche of sweetness finds its way to my spoon.

29th March 2013 – Easter
The family gather at our dining table. Its rickety, wooden everyday-ness is transformed. Love and laughter bloom, and food is shared. Spring is here, despite the cold outside.
