Bright pink flowers burst with life. Consummate showmen, they zing against the grey of the rain-soaked window. Tight buds wait in the wings beneath the dark green leaves, ready for their cue to enter.

7th March 2013 – lemons
Glowing yellow, shiny with wax. I cut into one, revealing its juicy segments. Each one holds a hundred sharp little droplets, fitting together like scales. They bleed onto my fingers and I breathe in their acidic sweetness.
