High on the crest of a hill, the dusky sun catches it, turning the trees into burning fire-brands. Colours flash as the breeze catches them. Red, yellow, brown, gold; each one flickering in its own spotlight.

18th November 2013 – noticeboard

Its former chaos has been tamed by glass and metal. A shiny lock proclaims its ownership. No more the dog-eared flyers and ancient posters, flapping in the breeze like community flags. Instead, a sterile order within perfect lines.

28th July 2013 – red poppy

It stands proud of the patch of wildflowers. Its delicate red petals curling and floating in the breeze, it displays its black heart. A beautiful flower doomed to remind us of the blood and horror of war for eternity.
