16th February 2013 – log fire

Red, orange, yellow…a rainbow of flickering colours. Tiny fire mites speckle the burning wood, soon taking flight as sparks, escaping into the blackness of the chimney like fireflies. The flames reach upwards, as if to catch them, but soon die down into ashes.
